How I Planned an Editorial Destination Photoshoot in the Heart of Europe

When I think about the perfect place for a Save the Date photoshoot, Prague is one of the first that comes to mind. There’s something about this city that’s hard to explain , it feels old and historic, yet full of charm and life. The bridge, the cobblestone streets, the architecture… every corner looks like it belongs in a movie. No matter where you look, Prague is simply beautiful.

What I love most about Prague is that, even though it’s a popular destination, it doesn’t feel overwhelmingly touristy. There are quiet corners and, even in the most famous spots , like the Charles Bridge, where you can see the whole city with the cathedral in the background , you can still find moments that feel calm and cinematic.

It was actually my first time in Prague, and the trip couldn’t have been more perfect. I was there to shoot a Save the Date session for a lovely couple, and I also got to see one of my favorite bands, AC/DC, live in concert. So yes new city, amazing couple, unforgettable concert.

To plan the session, we had a video call to create the mood board and align our ideas. I was in Paris and they were in Prague, so they helped a lot with the details , the dress, the makeup artist, and local logistics. I love working like this, meeting new people and collaborating with professionals from different parts of the world. Traveling for shoots always opens new creative doors.

Once we arrived on location, I was amazed at how easy it was to work there. In just one block, we found several spots that gave us completely different results. The final look turned out elegant, editorial, and a little Pinterest-inspired , refined but still very natural. I wanted the photos to show that we were in Prague, but in a subtle way: little glimpses of the cathedral in the background, the rooftops, and the textures of the city without making them the main focus.

In the end, we achieved exactly what we envisioned — a sophisticated and authentic Save the Date session that truly reflected both the couple and the city.

So if you’re planning a destination Save the Date in Europe, don’t stress too much about the exact city. There are beautiful places everywhere. But Prague really stands out — it has that rare mix of history, texture, and calm that makes every photo come alive.
