Not Just the Eiffel Tower , Paris Engagements from Above .

In Paris, when we talk about a “rooftop,” we don’t really mean a modern terrace like in other cities. It’s about the iconic slanted rooftops that are part of the city’s identity. Since the 19th century, thanks to Baron Haussmann’s urban renovation, Paris has been defined by these slate rooftops with attic windows ,now an unmistakable silhouette of the capital. What’s interesting is that these rooftops aren’t easy to reach. Even many Parisians don’t know how to access them. And I think that’s exactly what makes the experience so special: suddenly you’re up there, surrounded by chimneys and domes, looking out at an endless view with the Eiffel Tower glowing in the distance.

On this occasion, J& M chose that setting for their engagement during a nighttime photo session. And it was unforgettable. The city was calm, the Eiffel Tower shimmered in the background, and there they were sharing such an intimate moment that felt entirely their own. As a photographer, seeing them there reminded me why I love these rooftops: they’re not obvious, they’re not cliché, yet they still hold everything people dream of when they think of Paris.

What I love most about these rooftops is how they bring it all together: the timeless architecture, the sunsets that paint the sky with such unique light, and the evenings that always carry a touch of magic. For anyone wanting something different something original without losing the Eiffel Tower in the frame, this is the perfect place. And the most beautiful part is that when they come back to Paris, no matter how much time has passed, the city will always remind them of that special moment high above it all, on the rooftops that keep the most intimate and romantic side of Paris.
