A few weeks ago, I experienced one of those moments that remind you why you love what you do. I had the opportunity to work on a very special fashion editorial in Paris, alongside two prestigious bridal brands from Mexico: Benito Santos and Aguiar Novias.
Who is Benito Santos?
Getting to know and work with Benito Santos was one of those unforgettable experiences. He’s not only one of Mexico’s most celebrated fashion designers, but also a creative soul deeply connected to elegance and the power of femininity.
Benito’s path didn’t start on the runways , in fact, he began his career far from fashion , but it was in design that he found his true voice. He gained international recognition when Ximena Navarrete won Miss Universe in 2010 wearing one of his gowns: a now iconic red dress that continues to inspire. I remember it vividly. Who would have thought that years later I’d be photographing one of his collections?
What I admire most about his work is how he blends classic silhouettes with handcrafted details, creating pieces that speak boldly yet gracefully. Benito designs for women who know their strength. without needing to shout it. Working with him on this editorial reaffirmed that: his fashion doesn’t just dress, it transforms.
Aguiar Novias: The Details That Make a Bride Shine
Alongside Benito, we were lucky to count on the delicate talent of Aguiar Novias, a brand specializing in bridal accessories that treats each piece like a small work of art. Tiaras, headpieces, gloves, and veils were the perfect complement to elevate every look and give it that romantic, ethereal touch we were dreaming of for this shoot.
I was truly impressed by the level of detail, the artisanal craftsmanship, and how each accessory felt tailor-made for the Parisian setting. Aguiar’s pieces don’t just decorate , they tell a story and complete the vision of a confident, elegant, and unforgettable bride.Working with both brands was a perfect balance of strength and softness, classic and contemporary a fusion that came alive in every frame.
